PART-TIME INTERIM DIRECTOR OF TRUST

Engaged January 2023 to stabilise charity after crisis situation, resolve compliance issues and introduce effective controls. Established effective day-to-day management of activities whilst developing strategic future plan and recruiting new trustees.

FINANCIAL 

SUSTAINABILITY PLAN

Worked via a NLCF grant with the Oxfordshire Chinese Community and Advice Centre responding to austerity cuts with a strategy to build financial sustainability, diversify its income, develop partnership working and a more entrepreneurial approach. 

REFUGEE WOMEN SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

Working with CEO to separate CIC and Trading Co. and satisfy Regulator after forced move to UK and preparation for Impact Investment.

SOCIAL HOUSING ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Working with Orione Care - charity providing social housing and residential care. Evaluated structures & long-term support of transformation: strategic planning, redundancies, care home closure, Executive Director, Finance Head recruitment, trustee training.

ADVISING TRUSTEES DURING CLOSURE

Helping trustees spend out funds and close charity after transfer of operations to new CIC.

START UPS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Working with Founders and new Boards to register, strategise and establish new charities including The Melissa Bell Foundation and 

The Black Fund.

NLCF FUNDING

Secured 3-year £400k grant to staff 3 'meanwhile space' hubs across Oxfordshire.

STRATEGIC REVIEW & COMMUNITY KITCHEN BUSINESS PLAN 

Led Review of Strategy generating new core priorities plus produced 3-year Business Plan for new Community Kitchen offering true field to fork experience within Oxford City Farm.

GOVERNANCE REVIEW

Using Charity Governance Code as benchmark audited processes & policies. Wrote new role descriptions for Chair, Treasurer and trustees.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AND FUNDING

Oversaw property development project, and identified partners for local charity to collaborate with in operating The Hill - a new £1.1m sports & community centre in partnership with local authority & Sport England.

Continue to support since Feb 2020 opening, with  £294k 5-year core costs grant from TNLCF.

INTERIM CEO & ADVISOR MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH CHARITY

Stabilised men's mental health charity. Managed staff whilst establishing central office, plus effective policies and procedures. Implemented new strategy and staff objectives. Worked on Board development & training, established plan for growth and built coherence and effective teamwork. 

 YOUTH CENTRE STRATEGY PLANNING

Developed a 5-year strategic and 3-year business plan for free@last, youth charity in Birmingham; focusing on maximising the benefit derived from its new £1.5m centre.

Strategic review. Now leading transformation process, including local authority/community engagement, property re-imagining and enhancement
